My inspiration for this body of works can be summed up by the combination of both pieces – ‘The Heart of Reasons’ and ‘Untouched’.
‘The Heart of Reasons’ is based on the place I call home in Australia, in love with the memories from the openness and quality of the land, embraced with national park and ocean, it really is the seed that grew my affection for my natural coastal surroundings, while ‘Untouched’ is referenced from my current environment and how it has been impacted by time and growth (as with all coastal communities), which can be seen with the comparison images I have included under this particular piece.
From my early school years where disciplinary actions involved picking up trash on the grounds (yes I did a lot of that), to later in life, when I returned constantly to the lands of Canada all the way to Alaska where, to replenish both the land and my financial need for traveling I planted trees, I have understood the necessity to respect our environment.
Living the life of a surfer you rely and have a close relationship with nature, and I have been conscious for the need to look after what we have so that it will look after us, and to make others understand this cycle.Yet, in the same manner - with out change, we could not move forward, it is just that we have to watch what we change!

In my body of work, I hope you not only enjoy the artistic beauty of the piece and are drawn into it's serenity, but also understand the statement that I am trying to convey, that we need to look after this so we don't loose it!!!!

Nothing is as healthy or can replace a deep breath of fresh air and the serenity only nature can give.

I have given in many ways, both personally and in my gifted career choice, and continue to give/support chosen foundations and organizations to help preserve and protect the true asset that we all share – the environment.
