Stemming directly from my previous travel experiences, I have focused on the serenity that I found in the peaceful tropical settings. Experimenting with contrasts and the plays of dramatic light, help in finding the moods

As well, on some of my works in this series, I was influenced by the third dimension of the grain in the weathered wood from my previous series of work "Situations of Serenity", I found myself creating a texture on my naked canvas, mostly random and in contrast to the final painting, but sometimes with a premonition of the subject matter to be painted.
