Mixed Elements is a body of work that captures water cutting and dancing its course, while finding and molding a way to our oceans.
The combination of natural abstract and reality could describe many of our lives as we weave in and out of the numerous situations and circumstances that our own personal journey leads us.
Part of this series, wood was used as the canvas. I used a unique process of blanketing the piece with a solitary color. I then remove paint in certain areas, uncovering the natural abstract wood grain, to create the mid tones and highlights of the subject matter, enhancing with color to finalize the piece, and bring it to life with a mystical feel. |
